*************** Pulse and flow, the repetition, change Arranged and turning in an open space, Meters reading strange. Crashing waves upon a shore That knows no time, A grain of sand, an asteroid, A picture in a mind. Heraclitus teaches me, Down in the river, twice And continuity is just A tumble of the dice. In crowds we swarm Like lemmings In a rush towards the shore. Once One has seen all there's to be seen Can one be seen once more? In photographs, the image, Flash past between the light, The flash and the glass of lenses Magnify, pragmatic, I test the waters And the senses... Overlooked and undercooked, Half-baked and long forgotten, She's dropped the jar of caviar And discovered it was rotten. What will the future hold for me Now that the past has passed? I look around and try to see Where it had gone so fast. Nothing lasts but this afternoon Is moving kind of slow. I don't know, why don't you show Me the buffalo robe? In the tepee in the Morning, fields of corn, but the Horns of passing traffic blast the Indians from my dream and the Green fields turn to gray, Concrete decay, urban sprawl, That's all, that's all and the tall Find out it's raining first. Could be worse, I call the nurse For comfort from some pain. The symptoms are not physical But present all the same, and Heraclitus, twice removed, insists There's been a change, and When I ask him what, he repeats Himself and says it once again, and When I ask him what, he repeats Himself and says it once again But it's just not the same... It's just not the same... (1990 Nimyonta Music)

************************ Could happen any time, when you look 'round to see That things have changed while you weren't looking... Could happen any time when you get round to me And wonder why we never talk anymore... anymore... I was looking through a book of photographs today And found an old one where we were smiling. You looked as if you had been caught by surprise, I wonder why you never smile anymore... anymore... I remember a time when we used to go For long drives 'long the shore, 'long the shore. Sharing all our secrets, all our secrets have Been spoken, have we got any secrets anymore? Could happen any day when you open your eyes and see The furniture is blocking the door.... Could happen any time; you try to make your escape And find that avenue isn't open anymore... anymore... I remember something you once said, Something you said long ago. You said "The only thing I'm afraid of is The pain of loneliness, the pain of being alone..." Could happen any time, when you suddenly realize You've changed your mind and didn't even know... Could happen any time, when you get 'round to me And wonder why we never talk anymore... anymore... I remember something you once said Only a moment ago, You said "I just don't know how to feel Anymore and I want to be alone..." (1990 Nimyonta Music)
