This is the original soundtrack recording for the Quay Brothers' 2011 film 'Through the Weeping Glass: On the Consolations of Life Everlasting (Limbos & Afterbreezes in the Mütter Museum).

These recordings were previously available only as an MP3 "extra" on the film's original standalone DVD release, now out of print. (The film itself is still available on either of two subsequent BluRay compilations, in the US on Zeitgeist and in the UK from the BFI.)

This music was composed and recorded by Timothy Nelson at Le Croissant Fertile, Cape Elizabeth, Maine, USA between early 2009 and mid-2010.

All instruments on this recording were played by Timothy Nelson and include tympani, cymbals, gongs, field recordings, piano, vocals, mellotron, flutes, glockenspiel, chimes, bells, acoustic twelve-string guitar, harpsichord, wood blocks, Emenee toy bellows organ, drums, electric guitars, bass guitar, cello, mbira, ocarinas, clarinet and theremins.

The film 'Through the Weeping Glass: On the Consolations of Life Everlasting (Limbos & Afterbreezes in the Mütter Museum)' was directed and edited by Stephen and Timothy Quay, produced by Edward Waisnis and researched and co-written by David Spolum, with cinematography by Adam Carrigan. The soundtrack recording was produced by Timothy Nelson.
