You know that feeling you get when you're wandering around in an abandoned insane asylum at, like, 3am...and it's really cold, and the clouds of breath in front of your face start looking like blankeyed faces glaring back at you in idiot horror? That's what this album sounds like.
Favorite track: Epiglottis.
In most museums, the exhibits on public display make up only a small part of the collection; much of the most interesting stuff is in storage. The music on 'Cürio' was written and recorded during the sessions that resulted in the soundtrack for the Quay Brothers' film 'Through the Weeping Glass: On the Consolations of Life Everlasting (Limbos & Afterbreezes in the Mütter Museum)'. While the official soundtrack for that film is available as an 'extra' on the DVD (available from the museum directly, as well as through the usual download vendors), this additional, unused material is intended as a companion album.
